New term, new start

It's well and truly September and the season is changing rapidly here in Cumbria. Summer has moved into autumn, the leaves are changing colour and the kids are back in school. Those who don't need to holiday in July and August are heading off for a bit of late summer warmth.

We've also seen changes here at YPD, and those of you who are regular patients will have noticed some arrivals and some departures over the summer.

Ruth Forrester, our Lead Nurse has joined Lou Syrett from our Hygiene and Therapy team and Patient Coordinator Cheryl Miller on Maternity leave. We wish them well and look forward to seeing them again on their return. We are an incredibly fertile practice.

In turn we have been joined by nurses Chloe Nixon and Rebecca Bearchall,  both bringing experience from Specialist Dental Care In London and complimenting our wonderful team's existing skills. We have also gained Hygienist and Dental Therapist Rachel Maxwell who is covering Lou's maternity as well as joining us long term.

Delivering excellent dental care is as much about how we work together as a team as it is about our individual personalities and skills, and like most good businesses we take regular time out with the doors closed to improve how we go about what we do. You'll find us doing this before we open each Wednesday, and quarterly we lock up and find somewhere peaceful in the Lakes for a day. We've just had such a day at the excellent Low House at Armathwaite in the Eden Valley. It's best known as a wedding venue but we'd recommend it if you need to get away and focus on what matters.

One little BIG change has been the arrival of our new website sometime last Thursday. We appreciate that our patients want easy information and good communication in their lives - and this applies to their dentist too. We're delighted with the work that Chris Wilcox from Lightbulb Web Design in Carlisle has carried out in tandem with Ray Cassidy from Consulting Cumbria. Along with email, our Facebook and Instagram Pages you can now talk to us online with Live Chat - just check out the green tab on the bottom right of each website page. We'll be monitoring it during working hours as much as we can, and if we're busy it switches over to a messaging system so that we can reply to you just a soon as we can.

This is the first run out for this new blog - we haven't found the button that adds pictures to the text and being visual people we're a bit freaked by that but hey - baby steps!

Stay warm and dry.

Richard
