Cosmetic Bonding
Tooth-coloured cosmetic resin to repair or resurface broken, damaged, discoloured or misshapen teeth.
Composite bonding uses the latest tooth-coloured cosmetic resin in a variety of innovative ways. From a simple small repair to a complete composite resin veneer on a damaged tooth, bonding provides a robust and highly aesthetic solution.
The resin matches the colour of your teeth to ensure a natural result so that nobody will notice any difference, and cosmetic bonding can be a more affordable alternative to some cosmetic dental treatments like veneers. Commonly, we combine cosmetic bonding with a course of tooth-whitening which allows us to provide brighter, whiter, straighter teeth with a lighter touch and at a lower price.

Cosmetic Bonding and Smile Design
Here’s a lady who didn’t like the gaps between her front teeth. Ideally, she would have preferred braces, but there was no time before the date of her imminent wedding. As a temporary alternative, we lightened her teeth and then used carefully planned cosmetic bonding to enhance the shape of her teeth.
Three years later, the bonding is still there – we didn’t need to bother with the braces and the patient is delighted with the result.
Here’s a guy who was wearing his teeth down through night time grinding – a very common problem. He didn’t like the fact that he couldn’t really see his teeth and asked us to help. We felt that there was a risk that his grinding would fracture ceramic veneers, so we used whitening and then used resin bonding to give him the smile he wanted. A big advantage of bonding over veneers is that bonding can easily be repaired if damaged.
Cosmetic bonding and orthodontics
If you are an adult patient looking for orthodontic straightening of your teeth, it is quite likely that some of your teeth will have become misshaped through wear and tear. Whilst braces are excellent at straightening teeth, they cannot reshape worn teeth. It is quite common for us to use composite bonding to improve symmetry and appearance of teeth after orthodontic treatment.
